The Imperial Hotel****- Cork

Imperial Hotel Cork

In the very centre of Cork City close to all that the city has to offer the Imperial is the elder statesman of Cork hotels. The hotel has been lovingly looked after and recently internally re-modelled, which, although bringing it more up to date, has somehow also managed to retain its original charm.

South's bar is undoubtedly one of the finest in town.  In it's split level, galleried, almost cathedralesque warm embrace you will find live music most weekends and always a lively local crowd keen to swap stories of varying veracity...

There are two options for dining at the Imperial and numerous others a stone's throw away amidst the city streets.  Clouds is the main restaurant with full menus and a la carte: Lafayettes brasserie and coffee shop with its splendid art deco styling is the other choice for faster food and snacks.

Due to its very central location, the hotel does not have its own car park, however there are dedicated hotel spaces in a local multi-storey, just across the street.  In practice this is no problem at all.

Acton's Hotel - Kinsale Harbour

All the charm of the pretty harbour at Kinsale is embodied in the waterfront Actons Hotel. The period houses that make-up the hotel sit in landscaped gardens overlooking the harbour that is so rightly famed for its deliciously fresh seafood that is served in the many restaurants and bars in town.

Actons has the prime position in town overlooking the harbour and easily strollable into town - about 200 yards to the main street.  The rooms are very well kept, freshly decorated and feature all the amenities that you would expect from one of Ireland's leading hotels: satellite TV, safe, hairdryer, tea & coffee, even a iron to ensure a sharp appearance on the first Tee.

Actons was one of the first hotels in Ireland to feature an indoor pool and leisure centre. This has now been brought back up to date with a complete overhaul and offers a superb (indoor, heated) pool with massage jets, outdoor hot-tub, steam room, sauna, whirlpool spa, solarium, massage and beauty treatments.  So you are sure to leave refreshed and relaxed!

Kinsale is known as the “gourmet capital of Ireland” and in Actons’ restaurant, with its modern approach to classic ingredients, you will discover why. Brasserie style dining is also available all day in the light and airy Waterfront Bar.  Where there is often local entertainment, with live jazz being a popular highlight most Sunday lunchtimes.
