Golf holidays in County Down

County Down has one, rather significant golfing attraction: Royal County Down Golf Club, once played, never forgotten.  The course and setting is remarkable and draws golfers from across the globe to spend their golf holiday in County Down.  There are some other courses around the area that are well worth playing too so a golf holiday in County Down should be more than a one-hit-wonder!

The place to stay is Newcastle as this is where Royal County Down Golf Club is and it also makes a sensible base for investigating the other golfing possibilities in this corner of Northern Ireland.

Newcastle is a small, but lively, little town with an active fishing harbour.  This means that the restaurants in town have a goodly supply of fresh fish and seafood, coupled with a glass of the black stuff, it makens for a fine evening after a fine day on the links.
