The Bliss Hotel in Southport may not fit the British seaside hotel stereotype (for some that may be a good thing!) as it is a thoroughly modern establishment built in conjunction with Southport's new theatre and congress centre, slap-bang in the middle of the beach - the prime location in town. From the moment you park in the underground car-park you can feel that the Bliss hotel is an efficient design, confirmed by your ascent in the lift to the spacious Reception area.
The hotel has bedrooms that are generous enough for two golfers sharing in either Double or Twin bed format and those with a balcony will enjoy some lovely seaside views - including all the fun of the fair if you are on the right side of the hotel.
On the ground floor, or more correctly Pier Level, there is a roomy, modern bar with a large lounge area and outdoor decking that is ideal for a post-round round or a refresher before dinner.
The restaurant at the Bliss Hotel hides behind long picture windows affording lovely views of the seaside and the toings-and-froings of Southport holidaymakers across the pier. For dining out, Southport has numerous options ranging from fish 'n' chips up to smart bistros that can cater for any appetite - and all within a short stroll of the hotel.
