THE BEST HOTELS IN VALENCIA FOR GOLF HOLIDAYS
Reviews of our recommended Valencia & El Saler hotels.
Westin Valencia*****
Just outside the very kernel of Valencia the super-luxurious Westin Valencia is within easy walking distance of all the historic sights, fancy boutiques and fine restaurants of Valencia. The nearest underground station is only a couple of hundred yards away and the service is cheap, quick, clean and a very efficient way to get around town or down to the beach for a dip in the Med.
Without a doubt, the prime location in Valencia: the Westin has been created behind the cream facade of an old linen mill and around its quiet inner courtyard.
Bedrooms are large, modern and beautifully furnished. On the ground floor there are two restaurants (one of which is Japanese), an indoor/outdoor bar and below ground you will find the pool and spa area.
If you have arrived under your own steam, the Westin Valencia also has an underground car-park right beside the hotel with a lift directly into Reception: all very ewell organised.
Parador El Saler****
Unlike most Paradores, which are truly historic buildings, El Saler only dates from the last Century. It has a thoroughly modern appeal and sits squarely on the El Saler golf course providing both accommodation and Clubhouse facilities for the wayfaring golfer.
Everything about the place is sleek and modern from the white concrete and glass exterior through the marbled interiors to the cool bar and restaurant: all very cool.
Between the hotel and the course there is an enclosed garden area with pool discreetly shielded from the course by shrubbery. In addition to the outdoor pool there is a spa area on the lower ground floor.
El Saler is however a little isolated surrounded by the paddy fields of Albufera so for dining out a drive across these fascinating wetlands is required into the local villages like El Palmar - famous for paella (and spicy eels).
Marriott La Sella*****
Close to the popular little town of Denia the Marriott La Sella is another very luxurious place to stay in the south of the Valencian region.
In Marriott style, it has huge bedrooms, most with two Queen beds and huge bathrooms to match: you will have more than enough relaxation space!!
There is a lobby bar (with resident pianist) and two restaurants: one traditional Spanish the other incongruously Thai! For more Spanish dining options the streets of Denia are only five minutes away and full of Tapas bars, restaurants and cafes.
