GOLF HOTELS IN AGADIR
The best places to stay for Agadir golf holidays.
Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay*****
As you head south along the beach from the throbbing heart af Agadir, life becomes quieter and more refined. At this end of the beach you will find mont of Agadir's luxury hotels amongst which the Agadir Sofitel on Royal Bay in one of the finest.
The Sofitel has stood here for twenty years but was recently totally overhauled to regenerate a fresh stylish appearance. If you have stayed here in the past you may not recognise the airy covered atrium ans this was previously open air! This area of the hotel now serves as the main bar, with table service and live music every evening. Later on there is the uber-cool So Lounge, where you can dance the night away with the other young trendies.
Around the sides of the quadrangular atrium you will find the reception (quite well hidden!), the main restaurant which is always buffet style with the addition of several live chefs preparing dishes before your very eyes, opposite this is the smaller a la carte restaurant again with 'show cooking'.
Outside, between the hotel and the beach is the vast swimming pool surronded by sun loungers and gardens - the perfect spot for soaking up the strong Agadir sunshine.
Next door, the Sofitel Thalassa has extensive spa facilities and more restaurants (see below), all of which you are welcome to stroll over and use - you may not even need to head up to Agadir's bright lights during your holiday!
Sofitel Thalassa Agadir*****
Next door to the Royal Bay is the other Sofitel in Agadir: The Thalassa. An hotel totally dedicated to spa life, indeed the whole building exudes the cool calm of the chicest of spas: for a golf, sun and spa holiday it would be difficult to find better.
Water is everywhere at the Sofitel Thalassa in Agadir, none more so than the reception which is basically a giant water feature! Once you enter the hotel proper, everything is cloaked in dark chocolate tones and an almost eerie silence pervades the corridors and public areas.
The bedrooms are dominated by an immense bed that sits proudly in the centre of the room with the other amenities fitted in around it: relaxation is clearly the focus at the Sofitel Thalassa!
The spa itself is one of the best, a vast maze of pools, whirlpools, counter currents, acquacise machines, wet and dry treatment rooms - you name it they've got it! Total pampering.
The hotel of course has all the other facilities that you would expect from a five-star establishment: cool bar, two restaurants and a huge outdoor pool with a plenteous array of sun beds. Or if you prefer you can stroll out of the garden and into the Sofitel's private beach.
Tikida Golf Palace*****
A haven of peace and tranquility away from the distractions of Agadir's beachside nightlife. The Tikida Golf Palace is tucked away on the Blue course at Golf des Dunes and is a stylish retreat.
If all you want from your Moroccan golf holiday is sunny golf, fine cuisine and wine, a few drinks by the pool and maybe a little spa (in)action, then the Tikida Golf Palace is the perfect Agadir hotel for you. And of course if you want to see what those pesky youngsters get up to, the neon bedizened strip along the beach is only five minutes away.
The Tikida Golf Palace has thirty rooms - more like Suites really with their individual balconies, outdoor and indoor pools, nice bar, quiet lounges and a choice of two restaurants. A real golfing hideaway.
Kasbah Hotel****
In the centre of all the action in Agadir the Kasbah Hotel is also refreshingly open-air. In many ways more of a holiday camp than a standard hotel, the bedrooms at the Kasbah are spread around a leafy garden. Each room is self-contained with bathroom and patio and are more akin to individual Suites than bedrooms.
The central reception has a pool, poolside bar and buffet restaurant - as with many hotels in Agadir the formula here is all-inclusive: breakfast, lunch, dinner and all your drinks!
The hotel (and general area) attracts quite a few family groups and there are children's activities around during the day and evening. However there are plenty of snug corners if you wish to distance yourselves form these and of course the bright lights of Agadir are right outside your door.
There are another couple of restaurants in the grounds and fourteen clay tennis courts, should you wish for a multi-sports holiday. N.B. The Kasbah is an 'All-inclusive' hotel: breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks are all included in the cost of your holiday.
