The hotel itself is a fine old establishment that has been tended lovingly by its owners Hastings Hotels over the years.  Benefitting from several updates it maintains a fresh stylish appeal without ever venturing into tasteless territory.

Bedrooms are nicely furnished, Standard rooms will be fine for most golfers; larger rooms are available if you wish and if you upgrade to a Suite you may find you have a psychaedelic bath!  The lounges are smart and comfortable and the bar is cool with enough space to accommodate guests in comfort.

The main restaurant at the Slieve Donard will set you up for your game with a hearty Irish breakfast and in the evening, when battle is over, revitalise your spirit with delicious dishes created from local produce.

For dining elsewhere, you don't even need to leave the grounds as the old gatehouse has been transformed into a relaxed bar and restaurant serving simple bar-food in a usually lively atmosphere.  Strolling out onto the High Street will bring many other local hostelries into play.

The Slieve Donard spa should not be overlooked, a recent addition to the hotel, it has a big indoor pool (with great views of the Mourne Mountains) and a panoply of spa treatments that will soothe, relax and beautify you, as required.
